Privacy Policy
We collect only what we need to run Opinex and keep your account secure. This policy explains what data we collect and why.

Data we collect
We collect email address, name, and a user ID to create and manage your account and to provide app functionality (Quick Picks, Predictions, Debates, Survival, leaderboards).
We also collect device identifiers (such as your push notification token) to deliver notifications you have opted into.
How you sign in
You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google OAuth, or a magic link sent to your email. We use the information provided by these services (e.g. email, name) only to create or identify your account.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use Opinex so we can improve the app. We track a small number of events (such as which screens you visit and when you submit picks or predictions). We link these events to your user ID so we can measure things like activation and retention.
PostHog processes this data in the European Union. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell it.
Crash reporting
We use Sentry to detect crashes and performance issues. When an error occurs, Sentry may collect crash data, performance data, device information, and a screenshot of the screen at the time of the crash. Your user ID is attached to these reports so we can investigate issues affecting your account.
Storage on your device
On the Opinex app we use UserDefaults for session state and Keychain for secure storage of authentication tokens. This data stays on your device and is used only to keep you signed in.
Tracking and advertising
We do not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or fingerprinting. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us. Analytics and crash data are automatically purged according to PostHog and Sentry's retention policies.
